Community Oncology Alliance Releases Quality and Value Standards in Cancer Care

The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) announced today the release of a set of Quality and Value Standards for cancer care. The Standards serve as a foundation for practices who wish to ensure the provision of high-quality care, participate in certification programs, as well as discuss and demonstrate what quality care is with patients, employers, and other payers. They were released today at COA’s annual Payer Exchange Summit on Oncology Payment Reform.

COA Advocates Assemble on Capitol Hill to Keep Middlemen Out of Health Care

Medicare and the U.S. health care system are overwhelmed by middlemen such as pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and insurers. These entities prioritize profits over patient care by restricting access to treatments and delaying care for cancer and other serious diseases. This leads to increased health care spending, poor patient outcomes, and burnout among providers.

COA Submits Comments on 340B RFI to Bipartisan Senate Working Group

The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) has submitted comments encouraging long-overdue Congressional reforms of the 340B Drug Pricing Program. In its response to a bipartisan United States Senate working group request for information (RFI) on the 340B program and SUSTAIN 340B Act discussion draft, COA continues its strong advocacy for reform of the program to realign it with its original intent of supporting vulnerable patients, especially those needing assistance in affording critical medications, such as cancer drugs.
