Rose Gerber, MS, is the Director of Patient Advocacy and Education for the Community Oncology Alliance (COA). Using her extensive experience in national advocacy, communications, and that of being a cancer survivor, Rose manages COA’s Patient Advocacy Network (CPAN). Her work includes collaborating with local chapters in community cancer centers across the U.S. where she works with cancer patients, survivors, and clinical staff to elevate the patient’s voice in national health care policy.

In partnership with oncologists, nurses, and CEOs in community cancer centers across the U.S., Rose has executed hundreds of advocacy events where she teaches cancer patients, survivors, and clinicians about the value of preserving community oncology. Rose speaks about cancer care with congressional leaders in Washington, D.C., and with oncologists, nurses, and patients at advocacy and industry events. She has been a guest on national television (MSNBC) and has served as a consumer reviewer on the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs/Department of Defense research panels. Additionally, she was honored as the National Breast Cancer Leader of the year.

Prior to COA, Rose worked for NBC-TV in Los Angeles, CA, and co-founded and managed the One-to-One breast cancer mentoring program for Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology. Rose has a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and two bachelor’s degrees. Additionally, she is a graduate of the NBCC esteemed programs: Quality Care Clinical Trials and Science Institute. Rose was a mother with young children when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now a long-term survivor and applies her personal experience in her daily advocacy leadership.
